Store Up

There is both a revival and a spiritual famine coming on the land. God's word teaches that people will "wander from sea to sea and from north to east; they shall run to and from, to seek the word of the LORD, but they shall not find it." (Amos 8:12, ESV).

"'Behold the days are coming,' declares the LORD God, 'when I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD'." - Amos 8:11 (ESV)

If this is our reality now and in the days to come, how should we live as families and households? We should be families who store up God's word. As in the days of Joseph (Genesis 37-50), when he stored up grain during the 7 years of plenty and had grain to offer during the 7 years of famine, we should store up while we can!

"I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." - Psalm 119:11 (ESV)

How can we be families who store up God's word? It all starts with the leaders in the home: Parents, pray together and pray individually. Carve out time to prioritize gazing upon God's beauty and worshipping him. Read God's word and pray for the needs in and out of your home. Next, prioritize spending time together as a family talking about the things of God, memorizing scripture and praying with your children.
