"Husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way…so that your prayers may not be hindered."

1 Peter 3:7

Let’s be honest—most husbands and wives struggle to pray together. This is often an area of defeat in Christian marriages. Today is a perfect day to reverse this pattern and get the victory.

When the Apostle Peter wrote his first letter to the church, he exhorted husbands to tenderly care for their wives, “so that your prayers may not be hindered.” Prayer is understood as an essential element in every marriage, and yet why do so many marriages fail at this point?

Pride is the root of prayerlessness in both our private lives as well as in our marriages.

If you have not been the spiritual leader in your home, repent today. Don’t put it off. Humble yourself. God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. God will give you grace to become the spiritual leader in your marriage.

Don’t let anything hinder your prayers.

Loving Father, I repent of prayerlessness in my marriage. I humble myself. Give me grace today to mentor the prayer life in my marriage in Jesus’ Name.
