In our fight for redemption we are often faced with difficult decisions that are contradictory to what we have always known. In John 6, Jesus laid down an ultimatum to those listening. After everyone left, He turned to His disciples and asked them if they were going to leave also. Peter's response is our example when we’re faced with decisions that are difficult and seemingly impossible.
It says in John 6:68-69, “Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.’” In my own life, there have been numerous times where the decision ahead of me was difficult. But, like Peter, I knew that nobody other than Jesus could get me through.
Are you facing difficult decisions? Let the words of Peter be a witness to you as you choose to follow Jesus!
Lord, we know that you have the words that give us life. Help us to not look to anyone else as we fight for redemption in the tough places; in the places that require difficult decisions that go against everything we know in the flesh. Amen!
