"Yes, Lord; yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs."
Mark 7:28
When you bring your children to Jesus, it is important that you appeal to God on behalf of his character. The character of God is the promise of God for you.
When a feisty woman brought her little daughter to Jesus, she would not take no for an answer. She appealed to Jesus on behalf of the character of God—she knew that God was generous, and that healing for her daughter was part of the bread on God’s table.
Jesus was so impressed with this woman’s insistency, he said, “For this statement you may go your way; your daughter is healed” (see Mark 7:29). By the time the mother got home, her daughter was healed.
No matter how deep-seated your child’s issues may be, God wants you to appeal to his character today. Healing for your child is part of the bread on Father God’s table. This is a promise rooted in God’s character.
Loving Father, I come to your table to receive bread for my child(ren) today in Jesus’ name.
